Charles "CC" Carmichael

A celebration of life for Charles "CC" Carmichael, 66, of Hobson City, will be held, Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 2:00pm at the FEMA Building in Hobson City. Interment will be in Hobson City Memorial Garden. A public viewing will be held on, Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 3pm-7pm at the funeral home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home-Anniston. Charles "CC" Carmichael was born in Anniston, Alabama on March 9, 1959, to the parentage of the late Mary Walker Carmichael and James Plummer. Charles, known for his infectious laughter and radiant smile, grew up in Hobson City, Alabama, a city he loved and cherished. He received his formal education in the Oxford City School System and attended Calhoun County Training School. He later graduated from the St. Louis Job Corps Center where he obtained his GED and carpentry certificate. Along life's journey, Charles had many accomplishments, but his most treasured were his sons and his marriage to Duffy Whitfield Carmichael. Charles was affectionately known to many as "CC", a nickname that he was proud to be called. He touched the lives of many with his compassion and thoughtfulness creating cherished memories. On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Charles answered the Master's call and transitioned from labor to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Walker Carmichael and James Plummer; brother, James R. Carmichael; and sisters, Linda Brown and Cynthia Carmichael. Charles Carmichael will forever be remembered by his wife, Duffy Whitfield Carmichael; sons, Antone (Centrilla) Wright of Oxford, AL, W. Charles (Shayna) Whitfield of Oxford, AL, and Alfred Carmichael of Hobson City, AL; grandchildren, Shay'nadd Whitfield, Chaci Whitfield, and XaiOnna Whitfield all of Oxford, AL; brothers, Robert Carmichael of Anniston, AL and Clint (Alfreda) Carmichael of Japan; sisters, Deloris Hampton of Hobson City, AL and Marticia Randall of Ruther Glenn, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. As we gather to remember Charles, let us not dwell solely on the sorrow of his passing, but instead celebrate the joyous moments, the laughter shared, and the remarkable legacy he leaves behind. S.M.
