Charles (Chuck) W. Gillies, age 74, of Millcreek, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at UPMC Hamot after an extended illness.
He was born in Erie on August 26, 1951, a son of Eunice and Donald Gillies.
Chuck was a 1970 graduate from Academy High School. He enjoyed his 56 Chevy BelAir and the Las Vegas Raiders football team.
He was an auto mechanic and owned Straightline Auto until his retirement in 2019.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Emily Gillies Dorsey; a son, Nathan Gillies; brother, Donald Gillies; two brothers-in-law, Donald Craig and John Cristea and a sister-in-law, Linda Cristea.
He is survived by his wife, Janet (Work) Gillies; a son, Joshua Gillies; a sister, Peggy Craig; grandchildren, Isaiah, Dezmin, and Reece (Whitney) Dorsey, and Phaedra Gillies; great-grandchildren, Josh, Daymer, Melyna, Reece, Jr., Aria and Antonio. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, Robert (Paul) Jeffrey (Nancy), Mark (Beth) and Daniel Work. Due to Chuck’s wishes, there will be no showing or services.
Arrangements are under the care of the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. Wintergreen 2532 Norcross Rd, Erie PA 16510.
Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
