Charles "Bud" Concklin

Dec. 2, 1943 - Dec. 4, 2023

BLOOMINGTON - Charles "Bud" Concklin, age 80, of Bloomington, died at 12:48 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington due to a stroke.

His funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father Jeff Stirniman and Father Dustin Schultz concelebrate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and also will be held an hour before the funeral mass on Monday at church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Normal where military rites will be accorded by the Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Central Catholic High School Football Team.

Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bud was born December 2, 1943, in Bloomington, the son of Charles "Bubs" and Eleanor Concklin. He married Sandra Halsey on December 2, 1967, they had three children, she survives. He married Ellen Schroeder on April 2, 1989, in Bloomington, she survives.

Survivors also include two daughters: Julie (Kevin) Bott of Prospect Heights, and Jennifer Concklin of Bloomington; son, Charles James (Wendy) of Prospect Heights; twin grandsons, Jeffery and Jordan Concklin; grandsons: James Ryan Concklin and Charlie, Henry and William Bott; granddaughters: Hannah, Layla, and Naomi Concklin and Grace Bott; brother, John (Sue Ellen) Concklin; sisters: Christine Currin an Colleen (John) Crawford; and brothers-in-law: Art Schroeder and Steve (Paula) Schroeder. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews: Sienna and Sonia Schroeder, Colleen Graham, Mollie Dodd, Johnathon Concklin, Melissa Eichelberger, Elaina Siok, and Catherine Lothspeich; and great-nieces and great-nephews: Charlie and Olivia Graham, Jackson, Emily and Katie Dodd, Jade Concklin, Chaz and Maya Eichelberger, and John, Ryan, Charlie, and Samantha Siok, and JJ, Drew, Cate, and Bubba Lothspeich. Bud is also survived by several cousins.

His parents preceded him in death, along with brother-in-law, Jack Currin, and nephew, JJ Kinsell.

Buddy and I were class mates at Trinity and had many good times together. We stayed in contact with each other over the years. He was a good guy, and friend. I will miss our annual X Mas contact.
