Charles Vaughan Conner of Halifax passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025 at the age of 74. He was born in Halifax County on January 4, 1951 to the late Rev. Herman Vaughan “H.V.” and Sarah Wilborne Conner. He was married twenty-five years to Rhonda Short Conner who survives.
He was of the Baptist Faith. Charles was a United State Army Veteran and proudly served during the Vietnam Era. He was a retired Correction Office with the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, and he enjoyed bowling, music and golf. His passing will leave a void in all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Windy Conner of Raleigh, NC; stepchildren, Wayne Riddle (Suzanne) of Melborn, FL, Annette R. Watts (Todd) of South Boston, and Russell Cook (Sarah) of South Boston; two grandsons, and fourteen step grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Pastor Scott Dyer officiating.
