Charles Cook Obituary

PLEASANTON, Texas - Charles William Cook, 85, known affectionately as Bill by his family and friends, passed away peacefully in Pleasanton, Texas, in his youngest daughter's home, Farah, on Oct. 2, 2025.

Bill was born in Bono, on Aug. 22, 1940, to Jim and Dene (Lindley) Cook. His parents moved to Jonesboro shortly after, and Bill attended North Elementary, Annie Camp Junior High, and graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1958. Bill worked for the Cotton Belt Railroad for several years, did some factory work, and retired from the Children's Colony in Jonesboro.

Bill leaves behind a son, Scott Cook of Jonesboro; a daughter, Stacey Johnson (Skip) of Ravenna, Ky.; and a daughter, Farah Riebschlaeger (Fred) of Pleasanton, Texas. Five grandchildren, Courtney Spradling (Ryan) of Titusville, Fla.; Derah Bacon (Rob) of Pipe Creek, Texas; Kyle Kindred (Kendra) of Richmond, Ky.; Trinity Stevenson of Roswell, N.M., and Stafford Stevenson of Roswell, N.M. Six great-grandchildren, Miles and Riley Spradling in Florida, Kaden Martin, Khloe and Knox Kindred in Kentucky, and Tristan Bacon in Texas. A host of family, including a cousin Bob Taylor, who was also his best Buddy, and many friends.

This man was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. There will be a celebration of life in Jonesboro to be announced at a later date.
