HARTFORD CITY, IN – Charles R. Cullen, 95, entered peace and rest on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from Envive of Hartford City following an extended illness.
Charles was a native and former resident of Alexandria and was born on January 31, 1930, to Victor and LaFriedda (Worley) Cullen. He was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1948.Charles has always had an affinity with nature and God's earth. He and his late wife Orpha farmed together on 160 acres, fed 3000 hogs and 100 head of cattle. They were co-owners of Cullen Feed and Grain in Hartford City until 1990. Charles was also a route driver for Colonial Bread and Pepsi Company. Charles was baptized in the Grace United Methodist Church in Hartford City. He was a member of the Blackford-Delaware Pork producers and the Hartford City Moose lodge. Charles had a strong liking for horses, had ridden in rodeo events and enjoyed horseback riding. That could be why he was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts.

• 6 Grandchildren - Brad Thurston (Glenn) of Hartford City, Heather (David) Melton of Eaton, Hanna (Trevor) Kelley and Kristopher (Emily) Cullen all of Muncie, Molly (Josh) Brashear of Anderson, Whitney (Scott) Schroder of Kalamazoo, Michigan
• 6 Great-grandchildren - Huck Brashear, Amelia Schroder, Kaitlyn Cullen, Logan Melton, Charles Melton and Zachary Melton

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 74 years-Orpha (Hannah) Cullen in 2022, infant son-Barry Cullen, sister-Joan Allen, brother-Gary Cullen
Services honoring Charles' life and legacy will take place at 2 pm on Monday, October 6,,2025 in the Noffze Funeral Home, 501 North Harrison Street, Alexandria with Chaplain Richard Olson officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Alexandria. Friends may call at the Noffze Funeral Home after 1 pm on Monday.
