Charles Daras Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Henderson & Sons Funeral Home - South Chapel - Rome on Mar. 31, 2026.
Charles Anthony Daras, Sr., 48, of Silver Creek, GA sadly passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Floyd Hospital in Rome, GA.

Charles was born June 18, 1977, to his parents, Charles D. Peters and Wanda Belmore (formerly Boone).

Charles was the kind of man you didn't forget. Sharp-witted and unapologetically honest, he carried a dark sense of humor that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing long after. He loved a good debate, not out of stubbornness, but for the joy of exchanging ideas and seeing things from every angle.

Charles was born in Atlanta, GA. He met the love of his life, Kim, in 1998, and they shared 27 wonderful years of marriage. He found happiness in life's simple moments, working on cars, and after his stroke, finding comfort and a second family in online gaming, where he was affectionately known as "Chuck." He also treasured the quiet, meaningful time spent at home with his loving wife and their cherished pets, Bruce, Sheba, Tigger, Perkins, and Dorian.

To those who truly knew him, Charles was a warm, steady presence-a loving, larger-than-life man who showed his care not always through words, but through quiet protection. He was the kind of person who would walk a few steps behind, always watching, always making sure the people he loved were safe. That was who he was. Someone fiercely devoted, deeply loving, and constant in ways that mattered most.

Charles was resilient in every sense of the word. Life tested him time and time again, and he met it head-on with strength and determination. When asked how he was doing, he would simply say, "I'm vertical," a reflection of his grit and his refusal to give in. He was a true fighter.

To know Charles was to understand that love isn't always loud or obvious. Sometimes it's found in humor, in loyalty, and in the quiet ways someone shows up for you every single day. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved the man he truly was.

Charles is survived by his devoted wife, Kimberly Daras; his loving son, C.J. Daras; his father, Charles D. Peters (Daphney Lynn); his mother, Wanda Belmore (Ron); his brothers and sisters, Steven Daras (Amanda), Jennifer Shaw (Daniel), Tammi Peters (Jeremy), Charles Peters Jr. (Katie), Renee Stewart (George), Rebecca Campbell (Josh), and Lance Coughlin (Brittany); his grandmother, Mary Frances Nash Peters; his mother and father in law, Randy and Diane LeCroy; and his brothers in law, Mike Watwood and Timmy LeCroy.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Peters, and his maternal grandparents, Ben and Dorothy Boone.

A celebration of Charles will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the residence of Mike Watwood located at 5130 Blacks Bluff Rd. Rome, GA 30161.
