Charles S Davis JR

In loving memory of Charles S. Davis, Jr., 92, who passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025. He was born July 3, 1932, in Udell, IA to late Charles and Vera Davis. Charles Jr. graduated high school from Ottumwa, IA, Class of 1950. Enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Airman Mechanic during the Korean War 1950 -1954.
Charles professional career was aviation and loved to fly planes throughout the world. His success as a pilot retired him as Senior Captain of Eastern Airlines in 1992.
When Charles wasn't flying, he had a passion for fishing and hunting with family and friends. The Captain was also a lifetime NRA member and gun enthusiast.
Charlie had a lot of Angels (Caregivers) who took care of him during his past eight years. A huge "THANK YOU" to friends and Assisted living facilities, Alto in Grayslake and Brookdale Hawthorne Lakes in Vernon Hills.
Charles is survived by his siblings Katherine Babbitt, Richard (Mary) Davis, son Mark Davis, daughter Karan (Michael) Fraley, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Vera Davis, first wife Donna Davis, sister Carolyn Kane, daughter Gale Davis, one granddaughter, one niece, one nephew.
Private ceremony will be held later in the State
of Wyoming.
