Charles Louis DeWitt

Charles Louis DeWitt, aged 81, joined his loving wife in a joyous heavenly reunion on November
4, 2025.
He will be affectionately remembered by his children Deb (Mike) Knittle of Belmont, MI;
David (Liza) DeWitt of Neenah, WI; Sarah (Matt) Darby of Hudsonville, MI; sister Karlene (Bob) Kaashoek of Holland, MI; 9 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chuck was born and raised in Holland, MI. where he met and married his high school sweetheart. He was an avid athlete in high school and continued his love of sports playing softball and bowling for many years. He joined the Navy out of high school and eventually settled in Michigan working for Bohn Aluminum, where he dedicated his time and talent for 31 years. He later moved to Rockford and retired in Neenah, WI.
Throughout his life you could find him in the stands or on the pool deck supporting and cheering for his children, and later, grandchildren. Though a man of few words, he was a hard worker. He plowed snow and delivered newspapers on the side to provide his family with everything they needed and wanted. He lived by the motto and taught his children to always "give 110%."
After Kathy passed away he took up her love for baking. Using her recipes, he baked treats for everyone. Family gatherings would not have been complete without a competitive, but friendly, game of cards. We know we will be reunited in Heaven someday for another round of setback.
The family will gather to bury his ashes in a small private ceremony.
