Steven D. Landig, age 90, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. On January 25, 1935, Steven Dean was one of three children born in Neenah, Wisconsin, to Francis and Vivian (Blood) Landig. Following his 1953 graduation from Neenah High School, Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and joined the United States Air Force Reserves before being Honorably Discharged.
On a visit home from attending UW-Stout, Steve met Elizabeth "Liz" Schroder and they were married in Appleton on June 24, 1961. Following college, he started on the job training for fire protection working at AZCO for a few years. He then was employed with the Grunau Company managing the Neenah office before partnering with a few others to form Pace Corporation, which was designing and selling sprinkler systems for fire protection.
Steve found great joy in hunting deer and big game with his brother and his boys, and he especially cherished their times duck hunting together. He was a former board member of Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed Mondays at the Neenah Club. Steve was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Neenah. He served the church as an Elder and a Deacon for many years visiting many parishioners over the years.
Steve will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Liz; his son, David (Lisa) Landig; his brother, Paul (Kathy) Landig; a sister-in-law, Linda Schroder; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Greg; his sister, Suzanne Angell; and his brother-in-law, Daniel Schroder.
The Memorial Service for Steve will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Church Street, Neenah, WI 54956. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the hour of the Service at the church. Military Honors will be performed by the Neenah-Menasha Military Honors Team. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff on the 5th Floor at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah, for their tender care and kindness.
