Charles Leon Donnell

Charles "Chuck" Leon Donnell, "Gitchiinoodin" which means "Big Wind", age 64, of Redby, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on December 25th, 2025, from the Red Lake IHS Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born the son of Darlene (Sayers) and Lyle Donnell, Sr. on Thursday, March 23rd, 1961, in Red Lake, MN.

Chuck grew up and attended school in Red Lake. After high school, he worked for Red Lake Builders for many years. Chuck had a strong passion for hunting and sports, namely softball and football. He was the happiest when he was riding his Harley! Chuck loved spending his time with his children and especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

He is welcomed to the spirit world by his sons; Charles Donnell, Jr. and Baby Boy Seki, his dad; Lyle Donnell, Sr., brothers; Lyle "Choo" Donnell, Jr. and David Donnell, Sr., sister; Vicki Donnell, grandparents; Ethel and Matthew Sayers and Jane and Louis Donnell, uncle; Rick Sayers and numerous other family members.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children; Nicole (Brian) Spears, Sheila (Josh) Cook, Daniel Cook, Sr., Marla (Marvin Sr.) Donnell, Christina Donnell, Corey Donnell, and Ryan Beaulieu, his mom; Darlene Donnell, brothers; Jeffrey (Jolyn) Donnell, Sr. and Bobby Donnell, 18 grandchildren; Tyler, Nyah, Kaleigha, Alecia, Wayne Jr. (Jaylyn), Dan Jr., Marvin Jr., Kyrell, Nate, Aubrey, Mason, Migizi, Lilly, Amari, Patience, Charlie, Cincere, and Niigaanii, one great granddaughter; Kehlani, many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The wake for Chuck will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28th and continue until his 1:00 p.m. traditional service on Tuesday, December 30th all being held at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Fred Desjarlait, Jr. will be his Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Chuck are Corey Donnell, Daniel Cook, Sr., Marvin Schoenborn, Jr., Marvin Schoenborn, Sr., Wayne Fisher, Jr., Jeffrey Donnell, Sr., Jeffrey Donnell, Jr., Lyle Chaboyea, Shawn Chaboyea, Ricky Chaboyea, and Bobby Donnell. His honorary pallbearers are his special friends/helpers Clarence "Buddy" Spears, Tyrone Isham, Clinton Donnell, Sr., Misty Charnoski, special daughter Julieanne Cook, special granddaughter Kaleigha and all his nieces and nephews. Per his wishes, his cremains will be cared for by his family.
