Charles Richard "Rick" Dorr, age 73, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 9:11 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at his home in St. Peter, Illinois.
Private graveside service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery in St. Peter, Illinois. Pastor Ryan Meyer will be officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Cancer Support Group or donor's choice.
Rick was born on May 7, 1949 in Pana, Illinois, the son of Charles Lester and Vivian Erma (Sparling) Dorr. He married Ellen Sasse on July 27, 1979 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. His hobbies included old cars and WWII planes. He loved his grandkids and his dog, Pookey. He was retired from World Color Press and was also the former owner of Ellen's Family Dining.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Dorr of St. Peter; son, Richard Dorr of Alton; daughters, Elizabeth Chambers (fiancé Gus Anderson) and Pamela Noschese (husband Divo), both of St. Peter; sisters, Nancy Brown (husband Bernard) of Swisher, Iowa, Melody Taylor of Longview, Texas, Lori Tappendorf (husband Randy) of Altamont; sister-in-law, Lisa Dorr of Altamont; grandchildren, Stephanie, Deanna, Ava, Charlie, Brodie, Emma, Peyton, Isabella and Giovanni; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Vivian Dorr; brother, Randy Dorr; grandson, James Dorr; and his beloved dog, Pookey.
