Charles Downing Obituary
Charles Edward Downing, age 64, passed away on Tuesday 25, 2024 in his home. He was born in Jay, OK on March 7, 1960, to the late Raymond and Alberta (Wasmer) Downing.
He attended grade school through high school in Grove, OK, from which he graduated.
He did many odds-and-ends jobs, worked on contract with Ben’s Tree Service, and Retired from Simmon’s Foods in Southwest City, MO after 32 years of service.
He attended Heart of Praise church in Grove, OK with Pastor Eric Thornburg.
Survivors include his wife Diane Downing of 32 years. Children include Michael (Holly) Downing of Minnesota, David Downing of Tulsa, OK, and Jennifer Yochum of the home. Sisters Ella Hughes of Grove, OK, Emma Mattlock of Jay, OK and Annie of Jay, OK. Two grandchildren Lexi and Jeremiah of Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Alberta (Wasmer) Downing, brothers Benny and Jerry Downing, and sisters Martha Tadley and Jewel Elliot.
A visitation will be held at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, OK on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm. Graveside will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday June 28, 2024 at the Zena Cemetery in Zena, Oklahoma.
