Bristol, VA – Charles Henry Dye, Sr., age 82, passed on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Charles was a 1962 graduate of Patrick Henry High School. He was an employee of Electric Motor Repair and Sales for over 20 years and also an employee of Bristol Metals for 20 years. Charles was a member of First Christian Church in Bristol, VA for many years and enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, and walking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Henry Dye and Lillian Hazel Wolfe Dye; first wife, Bonnie Ann Scott Dye; second wife, Sharon “Cherie” Dye; son, Charles Henry Dye, Jr.; brother, Bobby Dye; sister, Dorothy Denzau; mother-in-law and father-in-law, David and Kate Scott; and nephew, David Blackwell.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Patricia “Trish” Bailey of Bristol, VA; brother, Alvin Howard Dye and wife Sharon; sister, Reatha Horton and husband Brian; sister-in-law, Colleen Blackwell; niece, Diane Catsouls; great niece and nephew, Peter Catsouls and Stephanie Catsouls; sister-in-law, Cheryl Dye; brother-in-law, Richard Denzau; special fury friend, Oliver; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful neighbors who Charles considered family.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Jeremy Burdon officiating.
