Mr. Charles Edwin “Ed” Franklin, age 77, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 6, 2026.

Born on May 22, 1948, in Clarkesville, Georgia, Ed was the son of the late Charles Frederick Franklin and Nettie Withrow Tench Franklin. Throughout his life, Ed was deeply involved with the Pennville Church of Christ and had a fulfilling career as a Project Manager with Fox and Brindle, as well as a contractor with the Georgia Finance State Investment Commission.

A proud veteran, Ed served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He had a passion for fishing, loved attending NASCAR races, and was an enthusiastic participant in drag racing. Above all, Ed treasured the moments spent with his beloved family.
