Charles Maynard Elder, Jr.

CHARLES (C.M.) ELDER, JR., age 74 of the Dumplin Community of New Market passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Hodges Cottage at Jefferson Park Nursing Home following a extended illness.  He attended Maury High School and was a member of the Dumplin Baptist Church.  C.M. was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp having served in the Vietnam Conflict and was an owner operator truck driver for many years before his retirement.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Hazel (French) Elder,; sister and brother-in-law, Jenette and Richard Cate; several nieces and nephews and cousins; special friend, Dale Cate. The family extends a special Thank You and appreciation to the staff of the Hodges Cottage at Jefferson Park for their love and special care they gave to C.M. In lieu of flowers, C.M. requested that memorial gifts be made to the Dumplin Baptist Cemetery Fund, 1843 W. Dumplin Valley Rd., New Market, TN  37820.   Graveside funeral services with Military Honor will be held Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00am at Dumplin Baptist Cemetery located on the hill behind the church.
