CHARLES WESTLEY ELLIS, JR.

Charles Wesley Ellis, Jr. transitioned peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Claiborne County, MS, and a resident of Marrero, LA. Charles was a retired truck driver. Beloved husband of 57 years to Shelby Jean Ellis. Devoted father of Annette (Patrick) Taylor, Robert Earl Ellis, Dennis Ellis, Brenda Ellis (Fred) Robinson, Roy (Joyce) Ellis, Jennifer Ellis, Michelle Dickinson, Thomas Dixon, and Janice Dixon. Grandfather of the late Dennis Carl Ellis, Jr. Son of the late Charles Wesley Ellis, Sr. and Hattie Mae Sorrells. Brother of James Sorrells of Hermanville, MS and the late Robert Ellis, Willie Luster Hall, Coatney Oquin, Dorothy Mae Oquin, Mary Wilson, Gloria Sorrells, and Viola Sorrells. Also cherishing his memories are 34 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of House of Grace and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at House of Grace, 3714 Westbank Expressway Ste. 11, Harvey, LA on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00a.m. Apostle Patricia Frye, officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
