Charles, or "Chuckie" as I called him, was introduced to me in 1985 by my college friend, Tony Hall. Tony and Chuckie were first cousins. I would frequently partake of meals at the Ervin home in Fairfax, Va
Chuckie was an avid basketball player. One time , the three of us drove to Ocean City, Md. While there at the beach, we did our own recording rendition of " That´s What Friends are For"
Amanda and Sister Ervin, May God give you Grace, comfort and perseverance now and in the days to come.
Love

I had the privilege and honor to serve as the Youth and Young Adult Pastor at the Way Ministries where Pastor Ervin was the Senior Pastor. He taught me things I wouldn´t have learned in a book or in a school. He took his time to ensure I knew who God was and where He was taking His people.
Pastor Ervin provided me my first opportunity to minister internationally when we travelled to Ethiopia on a missions trip. He trusted me with those who was under his spiritual care and I am and will be forever grateful. My heart hurts because he not only cared but he loved each of us and did everything he possibly could to ensure we knew it.
I am a better man because I was able to glean from him. I am a better leader because he showed me how to lead. I am a better father because he showed me what fatherhood looks like.
Rest well Pastor Ervin, your legacy and what you´ve imparted in all of us will live on.

Who would have thought my first cousin would make their first car sell to me. What's even funnier is that the person you sold the car to would have to cut your neck tie. Your coworkers got a kick out of that and so did mom and I. I will miss Chuckie. Love your cousin Velma

Charles and I have been friends for years. We worked in corporate America together, we went to the same church and we became realtors together. I´ve known his children since they were small. I´m going to miss him. He was a great man of God . He loved his family and he loved the Lord. I know God has welcomed Charles home with open arms, saying "Well done good and faithful servant "
Sincerely, your friend Lisa Sinclair
