Charles "Chuck" Feldman, age 86, of Roscommon, died on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in the presence and comfort of his family.
Charles was born October 8, 1938, in Birmingham, MI, the son of Wilson and Marian (Moffat) Feldman.
Charles married Agnes on August 6, 1966, in Detroit, MI. This was the start of a long, dedicated, and loving marriage of 59 years including two vow renewals on their 25th and 50th anniversary.
Chuck was a beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by beloved wife of 59 years, Agnes Feldman; three children, James Feldman (Heidi), Lynn Feldman, and Mary Johnson; three grandchildren Miles, Eve, and Daniel as well as dear friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Wilson Feldman and Marian (Moffat) Feldman and granddaughter Emily Feldman.
Charles attended St. Johns Military Academy and Hillsdale College. He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force and more than 25 years as a volunteer in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. He worked for 28 years in production control at Chrysler Corporation before retiring to Roscommon County in 1992. He then became involved in many activities especially the Historical Society and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Charles will be remembered as a dedicated husband, active and involved father and grandfather. He had a love for dogs, especially golden retrievers. He rescued and loved many dogs throughout his life including but not limited to beloved Suzie, TeePee, Libby, and most recently Bucky. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren out for days on Higgins Lake for swims at Sunken Island and tubing around the lake in the summer and for downhill tubing, sledding, and cross-country skiing adventures in the winter. He thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the boating community in the Roscommon area and could often be spotted teaching boating safety to community members as a Coast Guard Auxiliary member. Charles was an excellent Euchre player with his euchre partner and wife, Agnes, and was known to say, "if you don't get Euchered once in a while you're not playing the game right."
The Celebration of Life will be held on October 4 at 1:00 pm at South Higgins Lake State Park at the Boat Basin Shelter. A burial will take place at Crestview Cemetery at 2:00 pm and friends and family will return to South Higgins Lake State Park for refreshments and comradery. In lieu of flowers, in remembrance of Charles Feldman's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Coast Guard Auxiliary Roscommon Flotilla 26-03 Great Lakes District – Central Regions.
