Charles Edward Ferguson, III, 29 of New Smyrna Beach, FL departed to heaven surrounded by family after a lengthy battle on Thursday, July 24th, 2025 at 4:20pm.
He was born on December 27th, 1995 in Daytona Beach, FL. to Barbara Edith Bennett and the late Charles Edward Ferguson, Jr.
He leaves behind many loved ones, those dearest to him, his sons, Charles Edward Ferguson the 4th, Liam Tucker Ferguson, Jameson Ellis Ferguson of IN. and Hudson Wyatt Ferguson of FL; his sons moms Wanda Ferguson of IN and Stephanie Firek of FL; his mother Barbara (Steve) Bennett of Fl.; his stepmother Lisa Ferguson of AK.; his grandmothers Kathy Fain of KY and Sharon Preston of FL; his sisters Jessica (Matt) Pond of FL and Justine (Danielle) Ferguson of IN; his stepsisters Alisha Burris of OH, Aurile Chapman of AK, Kayla Jordan of WV; his stepbrothers Josh Burris of O., Isaiah Jordan of WV; as well as his beloved nieces and nephews Emma Scurlock of FL, Elizabeth Waters of IN, Hallie Chapman of AK, Camden Waters of IN, Dillon Jordan of WV.
He leaves behind many other family and friends he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his Father Charles Edward Ferguson Jr.; his grandfathers, Charles Edward Ferguson Sr., Tommy Fain, Edward Bennett; his cousins Johnnie Ferguson, Ronald McCool; his aunt Laurie Burnell; his uncles John Tingler, Humpy, Gary.
Charlie was a great man. He was a master lead carpenter, as well as having spent time as an ironworker, a lineman, and a lead handyman. Charlies always made everyone around him feel loved and cared for. He would go out of his way to help those he loved with his endless acts of service. He loved being outside. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and family, making memories. He loved surfing and kayaking. He loved to be in the sun at the beach. He loved playing baseball, basketball, and golf. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh. He loved reading, historical biography was his favorite genre. He loved music and enjoyed a wide variety of genres. He was deeply loved and will forever be missed.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Birchfield Cemetery at Flat Top. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
Family and friends will gather at 2871 Dunns Road, Flat Top, WV after the service.
