Charles Fritz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory - Maitland Chapel from Dec. 5 to Dec. 8, 2025.
Charles Joseph Fritz of Orlando passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at age 92. Chuck was born on April 18, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Throughout his life he loved long distance running, reading and travel. He ran several marathons, including the New York marathon. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where he was a member of their track team. He held two master's degrees in business and finance. Chuck was a captain in the Army Reserves ROTC Program where he performed procurement duties. Most of his career was spent at Westinghouse Electric Company where he was the manager of employee training programs. He traveled all over the world training Westinghouse employees in a variety of subject matters. He became the business development manager at Northrop-Grumman when part of Westinghouse was purchased.

He married the love of his life Patricia Fritz in 1975, and they shared 50 years of happy marriage. Their life together began in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, then Bowie, Maryland, and finally spending 26 years of joyful retirement in Orlando, Florida. Chuck was a longtime resident and beloved member of the Orlando Lutheran Towers community. Known for his genuine kindness, steady presence, and sincere concern for others, Chuck built friendships that lasted and earned the deep respect of residents, staff, and neighbors alike. He believed that life in community is meant to be shared generously, and he modeled that belief every day through simple acts of care, encouragement, and compassion. His dedication to the well-being of others extended into leadership as a valued member of the Orlando Lutheran Towers Board of Directors. Chuck worked tirelessly as an advocate for residents, championing improvements and initiatives that enriched lives and strengthened the vibrant spirit of OLT. He was appreciated not only for his wisdom and reasoned approach, but also for his gracious heart and ability to listen and respond with empathy. He leaves behind a legacy of service, friendship, and the quiet courage of someone who believed deeply in making life better for others.

Chuck is survived by his loving children Mary Beth Ayers, Charles "Chip" (Roni) Fritz, John "Jack" (Lisa) Fritz; Jeanne (Rich) Parenti, Mark (Boulong) Farrell, MaryBeth (Bob) Thompson, and Carolyn Doyle; grandchildren Jennifer (Daniel) Casella, Melissa Hankinson, Megan Homway, and Timothy Fritz; Pinyo (Zayda) Satiep, Jamie (Bob) Baumgart, Sarah (Ryan) Joseph, Jacqueline (Allen) Messenger, Thomas (Keri) Doyle, Sumintra (Micheal) Satiep, Sean Parenti, as well as 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Alice Cronin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Fritz, his parents Zeno and Mary Fritz, and his brothers Thomas Fritz and Zeno "Woody" Fritz.
