Charles William Gallagher, 90, died from natural causes on Monday, September 22, 2025, at his home in Westerville, Ohio while surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 28, 1935 in Linton, Indiana to the late Genevieve M. (Ryan) Gallagher and William L. Gallagher.

Chuck was raised in New Lexington, Ohio where he graduated in 1953 from New Lexington High School. He was a 4 year member of the baseball and basketball teams, participated in the junior and senior class play, as well as an editor of the senior class edition of the Lexingtonian.

Upon graduation from high school, Chuck served as a member of the United States Army from September 1954 to Honorable Discharge in September 1956. Much of his service duty was spent in the state of Alaska.

In June of 1959 received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University. From June 1959 to August 1966 he was employed as a Draftsman when, in October 1966, he became a Registered Architect with the State of Ohio, as well as the State of Kentucky in September 1979, and the State of West Virginia in February 1980. Some of his more notable projects he was involved with in his career include: Roscoe Village Inn, Johnson-Humerickhouse Museum, Riverview School, BancOhio National Bank, Peoples National Bank, Coshocton County Joint Vocational School, Coshocton Public Library, Rivergreens Club House, Cambridge Health Care Center, West Lafayette Emergency Squad, Coshocton High School, Coshocton Fire Department, and the Roscoe Village Bakery.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Ann (Shiplett) Gallagher of Westerville, Ohio; daughter, Lori Jo Cline of Westerville, Ohio; son, Mark W. Gallagher of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter-in-law, Suzy Gallagher of Fairfax, Virginia; and grandsons, Brian Gallagher, Bradley Mowry, Robert Battista and Joseph Battista, of all Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Kerry Gallagher; son-in-law, Stuart Cline; sister, Phyllis Marie (Gallagher) Cannon; brothers-in-law, Royce Cannon and Paul Wilson; sister-in-law, Rose Wilson and a grandson, Gary McCoy.

Calling hours will be held from 11am-12noon with Mass of Christian Burial at 12noon with Father Emmanuel Adu Addai as celebrant on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 309 North Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army, 219 North 4th Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
