Mr. Charles Edward Gill, age 78, of West Point, passed away on October 26, 2025.
Mr. Gill was born on August 29, 1947, to the late Hobson and Ada Gill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Lynn Gill.
Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked most of his career in the textile industry, including at the Hillside Plant and Interface in LaGrange. He was also employed with the Troup County School District as a bus driver for many years. He was a devoted member of Baptist Tabernacle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Delores Mae Duncan Gill; children, Rodney Gill, Amy Thompson (John), and Valerie Murphy (Danny); grandchildren, Jeremy Gill (Christen), Laura Gill, Aaron Thompson, Kyra Thompson, and Kena Hunter (Jacob); great-grandchildren, Ruby Gill, Charles Gill, Railey Hunter, and Jasper Hunter; half-sisters, Lisa, Rachel, and Carolyn Jane "Cricket"; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
