Charles W. Grady

Charles "Charlie" William Grady, 89, of Audubon, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 20, 2026.

Born in Magnolia and raised in Somerdale, Charlie was the son of the late Charles F. and Beatrice R. Grady. A proud graduate of Camden Catholic High School, he served in the U.S. Navy Reserves before embarking on a lifelong career in precision sheet metal. Known for an exemplary work ethic that remained tireless well into his 80s, Charlie was a pillar of honesty and dedication in his industry and his community.

In 1957, Charlie married the love of his life, Diane Wilson. Together, they moved to Audubon in 1961, where they built a vibrant life and a sprawling, devoted family. Charlie was the quintessential patriarch-a constant, cheering presence at his grandchildren's sporting events and a source of unwavering strength for his children. He cherished family travels, creating lasting memories from the shores of Ireland and Aruba to the magic of Disney World and his beloved Jersey Shore.

Charlie was predeceased by his cherished wife of 62 years, Diane; his daughter, Kathleen "Kate" Pergola; and his brothers, Edward and Thomas.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Patty), Kelly Hill (Richard), Jennifer Furlong (Joseph), and William (Billie Jo), as well as his son-in-law, Scott Pergola. "Pop" leaves behind a remarkable legacy through his 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Trudy Wilson, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

His viewing will be held on Wednesday 1/28 at 9:00 AM at St. Vincent Pallotti RC Church, 901 Hopkins Road, Haddon Township, NJ where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Charles' honor to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
