We are sad to announce that Charles Edward Green has passed away at the age of 79.
He died the same place he was raised, Crossville, TN.
Charles is fondly remembered for his love of family, country, and God. Charles served two years in the Vietnam War. Stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was an active member of his church for many years and took great pride in his work there. Charles was known for his quick wit, backbreaking work ethic, and his ability to talk to anyone. Charles never knew a stranger, and he made it impossible to feel lonely if he was in your presence.
He will be missed by those left on Earth but warmly greeted by those who preceded him in death. He will be joining his wife, Bonnie Jean (Rothan) Green; mother, Esther Lee (Hale) Green; father, Claude Edward Green; and grandmother, Mattie Ann Woodall.
He leaves behind his two sisters, Carol Faye Loshbough and Elizabeth Ann Proffitt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Please join us in commemorating the life of Charles at Bilbrey Funeral Home on March 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Newton Cemetery. We will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Charles will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him. To conclude his life, we would like to send him off with the words he would tell his family every time they would leave. “I love ya, bye”
