Charles William Hardbarger, 83, of Watts, OK passed away on May 12, 2025 in Tulsa, OK surrounded by his family.
Charles was born in the home January 1, 1942 on a snowy day in Greasy, OK to Sam and Dolly May (Asbill) Hardbarger.
Charles worked for more than five decades as a long haul truck driver and loved telling his old trucking stories. Much of his spare time was spent being involved with some kind of racing. He was always trying to win the next A Feature. He loved being at the race track and cherished time with his racing family.
Charles married the love of his life, Angie in 2001. They enjoyed a good life together making their home, camping, traveling, and spending time with family. He was devastated with the loss of Angie in 2019 and yearned for the day they would reunite in heaven.
Charles was a member of Church on the Rock in Stilwell, Oklahoma and was baptized July 2024 by pastor Terry Mays. He enjoyed learning more about the Bible during his last several years of life. He was adamant that he knew he would meet the Lord upon passing from this world.
Family and friends will remember Charles as always being sharp-dressed and organized. He loved to eat and would never leave food on his plate and always had room for dessert. He refused to cook for himself or eat leftovers, so the way to his heart was a good meal. He truly cherished time with his family and wanted nothing more than for everyone to be together. Christmas Eve was the occasion he loved to host each year and seeing his family convene in his home was very special to him.
Remaining to cherish Charles’ memory are children, Sammy Hardbarger of Gravette, AR, Sherry Hardbarger of Watts, OK, Keith Hardbarger of Watts, OK, Charlia Hardbarger of Watts, OK, Denny Hardbarger (Amy Henry) of Colcord, OK, Shayne Hawley of Siloam Springs, AR, and Charles Hardbarger Jr. “CJ” (Lisa) of Bebee, AR; stepson Tom T Harper (Marta) of Gentry, AR; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Ogdon (Jerry) of Vinita, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death are his wife, Angelique Hardbarger; parents, Sam and Dolly Hardbarger ; granddaughter, Delylah Sidebottom; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Hardbarger; brothers, Sonny Hardbarger and Lee Killer and four infant brothers who died at birth.
