David Allen Hardbarger, of Laurelville, Ohio, danced through the gates of Heaven, finally without pain, on Saturday, September 7, 2024. David was born in Circleville, Ohio on February 5, 1977 to Tom Hardbarger, Jr. and Bertha Holbrook. His siblings Jason and Sarah quickly joined the family, and years of loving memories and sibling fights followed. Many years later, a young adult David was memorized by his baby sister, Tymber. In 1993 David met a teenage girl while enjoying a trip to Kings Island with his best friend, Sean's church youth group. The two quickly became inseparable. They couldn't wait to start their lives together, but first David graduated Circleville High School in 1993 and then Ohio University in 1999 with a degree in Criminal Justice. David married his best friend and soul mate, Annie on September 23, 2000. They bought their dream property in Laurelville, Ohio where the couple started their young lives together. David dedicated his career as a social worker for Children's Services. In 2003, David started his most important job and became the proudest Dad with the birth of Layne Dallas Hardbarger. In 2006, Addison Nicole Hardbarger became his first baby girl followed by Avery Elizabeth Harbarger in 2010. David's family was his entire world. He loved nothing more than coaching softball, helping with homework, and digging in the dirt with his kids. He also loved running around the yard with his dogs and snuggling in bed with his cats. David was a proud father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Life wasn't without trials. In 2016, David was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome-a type of blood cancer. He fought a difficult battle over the last 8 years, but we weren't expecting his sudden passing. Several family members were eagerly awaiting and overjoyed to welcome David as he made his way down Heaven's golden streets. David was preceded in death by his step-father Steve Holbrook; grandparents Dick Hinton, JoAnne Martin, Tom Hardbarger, Sr. and Mary Hardbarger. His beloved great grandma, Thelma Hardbarger also welcomed him with open arms. His father-in-law David Kasler also preceded him in death. David is survived by his wife Annie (Kasler) Hardbarger, children Layne, Addison and Avery Hardbarger; his parents Tom Hardbarger Jr. and Bertha Holbrook (Jim Adams); siblings Jason (Carol) Hardbarger, Sarah Hardbarger and Tymber all survive. Also survived by mother-in-law Mary Kasler and sister-in-law Krista Benson and by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Northridge Church of Christ with burial to follow in Green Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Please give your loved ones an extra hug today. Remember David for his loving and caring spirit. Also, David says, "Go Vols!"
