Charles LaVerne Haskins passed away on March 2, 2026 . Chuck was born October 22, 1932 in
Kuna, ID the second son of Clinton and Lola Haskins. He attended school at the Mora School in Kuna. His mother, Lola, passed away when he was 7 years old.
A few years later he and his brother, Gene moved to Horseshoe Bend to live with their sister, Clara, while their father was in the hospital. Eventually the family moved to Arizona. The day he turned 18 in 1950, Dad enlisted in the Army. He spent some time in Germany working in an Army hospital during the Korean War.
Dad returned home in 1953, was discharged from the Army and enrolled at Boise Junior College learning auto mechanics.
The following year Dad started dating Betty Rudolph and they were married in 1954. Our parents had three children, Kevin, Cathy and Tammy. Dad was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1954. Our family was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1961. Dad's testimony grew and he became very strong in the gospel.
We enjoyed a lot of family vacations, camping on the Oregon Coast, Glacier National Park and Yellowstone Park
In 1973, Chuck married Sharon Budge. He later adopted Sharon's son, Douglas.
Dad and Sharon were very active for many years and served in the church's Name Extraction Program, working on German records and expanding their family history.
They also served together in the Boise Temple as ordinance workers. This was one of the great joys in their lives.
In their earlier years together, they loved to take their motorcycle on trips with their friends, Don & Tammy Conklin. They saw a lot of the western United States that way. One of Dad's favorite places to go was the slot canyons in Utah.
After Sharon passed away in 2019, Dad always felt anxious to join her. He finally has his wish.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Lola, his wife, Sharon and their son, Douglas, his brothers, Gilbert (Dorothy) Haskins, Eugene (Nina) Haskins and their sister, Clara Woods. He is survived by his son, Kevin Haskins, daughter, Cathy (Patrick) Quinney, and daughter Tammy Parker. Dad proudly has 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Kevin and Cathy wish to give a special thanks to Tammy for her loving care for Dad over the past many years.
