Charles A. (Alec) Hayes, Jr., 73, beloved father and brother, passed away suddenly the week of August 18, 2024 in the home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Merle Hayes. Alec is survived by his son, Chris Hayes; sisters, Jennifer Malvitz (John), and Daphne Gentilozzi (Harry), and nieces and nephews.
Alec had a good sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. He was sympathetic towards the down-trodden and would lend a kind hearted ear. He had life-long friends that remained loyal over the years. He liked animals; especially cats.
Alec liked the outdoors, swimming and fishing when he was more mobile, and enjoyed watching sports; especially football and golf. He loved listening to music, reading, and watching TV. He had a keen memory and was really good at Jeopardy. Alec was also a capable auto mechanic, enjoyed wood working, and other handiwork. Alec will be missed.
A private gathering of family and friends will be held on a future date.
