Charles Thomas Hembrey
Mr. Charles Thomas Hembrey of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born October 6, 1950, the son of John Frank and Virginia (Stone) Hembrey.
Mr. Hembrey worked for Capital Wire until his retirement. He was of the Christian belief.
Mr. Hembrey was a devoted family man and lover of the great outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, often cooking wonderful meals made from the wild game he harvested. Mr. Hembrey enjoyed hanging out with his friends at Spanky's. He also enjoyed watching westerns. Mr. Hembrey's greatest joy in life was the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Hembrey is preceded in death by three brothers, Bob Hembrey, Roger Hembrey, and Frankie Hembrey; four sisters, Dorothy Tarno, Jean Carrick, Ora Lee Bowen, and Jennifer Hembrey Cheshier; and his parents.
He is survived by his three sons, Patrick Hembrey of Tuckerman, Joey Hembrey and Sarah Bradley of Newport, and Marcus Hembrey and wife, Rachel, of Tuckerman; two brothers, Richard Hembrey and wife, Linda, of Newport, and Monty Hembrey and wife, Michelle, of Elgin; a sister, Nita Faye Hembrey, of Newport; eight grandchildren, Gabriel Potter and husband, Robert, Jennifer Bearden and husband, Case, Skylar Hembrey, Cody Hembrey, Drew Hembrey, Lexi Hembrey, Hayden Hembrey, and Maddox Hembrey; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; the mother of his children, Vera Mae (Exum) Hendrickson, of Tuckerman; and a lifetime of friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Hembrey will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Cheshier Cemetery. Friends may visit at Jackson's Funeral Home Saturday morning, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Chad Harris, Mike Bowen, Chip Youngblood, Ryan Cloud, Donnie Washam, and Jeff McGinnis. Honorary pallbearers are Drew Hembrey, Lexi Hembrey, Hayden Hembrey, Maddox Hembrey, Benny Daniels, and Jerry Fortune.
