Charles Elwood Hemming

Charles Elwood Hemming, 87, of Circleville, Ohio passed 10:08 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Charles was born October 26, 1937, in McDermott, Ohio, the son of the late James Stewart Hemming, and Waverly Jane (Wooten) Hemming. On April 2, 1960, he was united in marriage to Grace Elizabeth "Libby" (Adkins) Hemming who preceded him in death on July 14, 2009.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Douglas "Doug" (Crystal) Hemming, and Dennis Duane (Kimberly) Hemming; a daughter, Linda Rana (Rick) Hemming Bailey; six grandchildren, Sara (Jordan) Alphin; Tyler (Abigail) Hemming, Lindsey (Shane) Ward, Brandon (Alexis) Williams, Caitlin (Nicolas) Sanz, and Christopher (Kali) Hemming; eight great grandchildren; and seven siblings, Chester Hemming, Carl Hemming, Roger Hemming, Bobby Hemming, Geneva Dravenstott, Janet Bridwell, and Joann Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; and five siblings, Harland Hemming, James Hemming, Iva Hemming, Eva Blair, and Linda Hemming.
Charles was previously employed by Porter's Dry Cleaning, Circleville, Ohio, as well as DuPont, Circleville, Ohio, where he worked in electrical maintenance. He was a member of the Circleville Church of Christ, as well as a member of the Round Town Cruisers car club. He enjoyed music, racing, cars, and The Ohio State University sports.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio with Pastor Dean Manning officiating. The Burial will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 27, 2025, at Lucasville Cemetery, Lucasville, Ohio.
