Charles Evans Howard, “Chick “69, of Louisa, Va departed this life on Thursday January 16, 2026, at the Hospice of the Piedmont. Charles was born in Charlottesville VA on December 19,1956, to the late Claude Howard, Sr. and Louise B Howard. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Louise Howard; his sister, Constance “Connie” Howard and a nephew, Evan M Howard-Berry.
Charles loved to cook and worked in many restaurants in the Charlottesville area, Including: Farmington Country Club, Ming Dynasty, as well as The Biltmore Grill, and many others. He also loved football, his team was the Washington Red Skins, which is now the Commanders. He met many people in his love of playing cards.
Charles leaves to cherish his memories 3 brothers, Claude Jr. (Deborah) of Stanton, VA, Harry Sr. (Gail) of Louisa, VA., Roger (Penny) of Fishersville VA., a sister, Ida of Louisa, VA. An uncle, Lloyd Howard, Sr. of Lanham, MD and an aunt, Mattie Howard of Fayetteville, NC. He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Brett Castrodale MD and the Hospice of the Piedmont for their care given to Charles during his illness.
