COHOES – Charles F. Jacques Jr., born February 12, 1958, in Cohoes, NY passed away unexpectedly at Samaritan Hospital on Monday October 6, 2025.
Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Charles and Jeanne (Evertsen) Jacques Sr. Charlie was a long-time resident of the City of Cohoes, and for the last 7 years has resided at the Troy Center for Rehabilitation. He was well known throughout the city and loved by many. Charlie was known for always lending a helping hand, being the life of the party and telling jokes everywhere he went. Many at Troy Center referred to him as the "Mayor" of the facility, and he took that title seriously.
Charlie is survived by his three daughters: Stacie Douglas of Colonie, Stephanie (Shawn) Gilbert of Waterford, and Ashley (Nicholas) Mustico of Georgetown, Texas. His brothers; Scott (Kristine) Jacques of Gansevoort NY, and Brian (Tracie) Jacques of Elmira NY and predeceased by his brother Mark Jacques of Chazy Lake NY. He is also survived by his beautiful grandchildren, Anthony, Raelynn, Brandon, Madeline, Thomas and Molly, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Charlie was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He loved visiting and catching up with all his friends after the Rock the Block concerts. He was a die-hard Packers fan and loved watching all sports. Although Charlie didn't have many words at the end of his life, he had no problem communicating with you exactly what he was thinking.
A funeral service has been scheduled for Thursday October 9, 2025 at 6 pm. Friends and family are invited for calling hours from 3:00pm-6:00pm at Fitzgerald Funeral home 105 Vliet Blvd. Cohoes NY.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Charlie's memory to the American Legion of Cohoes 93 Oneida Street Cohoes, NY 12047
