Charles N. Jameson, 76, of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away Monday, April 14th, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.
Charles was born in Point Pleasant, NJ on January 28, 1949, a son of the late Dorothy A. (Bennett) and Charles A. Jameson. He was a lifelong resident of Matawan/Aberdeen. He always had fond memories of his childhood friends off of Lake Blvd. Charles proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Vietnam during the war from 1967 to 1970. After coming home, he followed his love of stock car racing, competing at local tracks like Englishtown and Wall. He met and fell in love with his wife, Diane Meder. As a newlywed he started working for the PRC Group, where he was a property manager for 49 years until 2023.
Charles and his wife were both Life members of the Matawan First Aid and Rescue Squad, having served for over 25 years. Charles also hosted the town flea markets at the train station for the Matawan First Aid. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's RCC.
Charles is predeceased by his beloved wife, Diane, and his grandson Ricky Ashmore. He leaves behind his loving children Cheryl Jameson-Braza and her husband Brian, Charles Jr. and his wife Amy, and Ricky Ashmore. Also left behind are his cherished sister Veronica Kirkpatrick, his three grandchildren Brian Braza III, Elizabeth Rose Jameson, and Richard Leonard, alongside 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday April 21, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Parish St. Joseph's RCC, Keyport.
