Charles Edward Jenkins, 86, of St. Marys, Ga. passed away on April 11, 2025 at S.E. Ga. Healthcare System, Camden Campus. He was born on May 17, 1938, in St. Mary's, Georgia, to the late Nancy Campbell-Wesley and Eddie Jenkins. He was the youngest of both and held a deep love and admiration for his parents.

He graduated from Ralph J. Bunche High School in the Class of 1957. Shortly after graduation, he began working at Gilman Paper Company, where he remained a dedicated employee until his retirement. Never one to stay idle, he continued part-time work by assisting visitors at the St. Mary's docks and later at Walmart. Charles was a member of Young Zion Baptist Church, where he served faithfully on the Usher Board. His life was one of quiet strength, laughter, unwavering commitment to family, and a heart full of kindness. On June 26, 1965, Charles married the love of his life, Marjorie Harris Jenkins. Their union was blessed with three children: Charles Jenkins, Brittany Jenkins-Morrow (Kenan), and the late Candace Jenkins. He was also a devoted father to his eldest daughter, Charlene (Donald I, deceased) Jenkins-Butler of Ocala, Florida.

Charles is preceded in death by his daughter, Candace Jenkins, granddaughter, Meeka Jenkins-Porter, two sisters, Louise Carter and Lilla Henderson, one brother, Lawerence Campbell and one son-in-law, Donald Butler.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Marjorie Jenkins; children, Charles Jenkins, Brittany Jenkins-Morrow (Kenan), and Charlene Jenkins-Butler; six grandsons: Carl Greathouse, Jarvis (Porsha) Jenkins, Donald II Butler, Tavarius Clements, DeMarco Jenkins, and Kenan Morrow Jr.; seven granddaughters: Donna Butler, Shawanda Butler, Anntanette Butler, Marquita Smith, Jasmine Jenkins, Margene Jenkins, and Kennedi Morrow; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Also left to cherish his memory are sisters-in-law, Dorothy Shiviliar (Nathaniel), Chiquita Harris (Curtis, deceased), Katherine Poole (Maurice), Geraldine Waye (John, deceased), Willie Ruth Harris (Joe, deceased) Joann Powell (Eddie, deceased); brother-in-law, Alfonza Harris (Pat); beloved cousins, Douglas Lane and Paul Jenkins; devoted friends, Eddie Lee Smith Jr. and Bishop Arthur Dawson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly. His legacy will live on in all who knew and loved him.

There will NOT be a wake/visitation. Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 @ 1:00 pm at Young Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Hwy 40, St. Marys, Ga. 31558
