Charles "Chuck" Kelly Obituary
Charles "Chuck" Lurndal Kelly, age 73, of Sanford, NC, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at his home, with his wife by his side.
He was born in Lee County, NC on September 3, 1950 to the late James Clyde Kelly, Jr. and Irene Stella Lurndal Kelly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece Heather Sheree Kelly.
Chuck received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University and worked in supervisory roles at Moen, Black & Decker, Champion Products, Nortel, Eaton and retired from Tar Heel Distributors. He was a Tar Heel fan, enjoyed going to football and basketball games with his dad and group of ten. Chuck's favorite pastime was listening to beach music in his man-cave or while cruising in his 1967 Corvette. Chuck served our country in the United States Army.
Chuck is survived by his wife, of 29 years, Sue Cameron Kelly; sister Susan Kelly; brother, Mike Kelly (Sheree); nephew Brandon Kelly; great-nephews Taylor Allred and Brayden Kelly. He is also survived by his dad's surviving wife, Kay Kelly; her daughters Cindy Sutton and Beth Crawford (Van) and his fur-baby Sunny who was his man-cave-companion.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Cameron Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Houston officiating. Burial will follow at Cameron Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services in the church fellowship hall and other times at the family home.
