Charles Kendricks, 95, Crawfordsville passed away peacefully at 8:40 am at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, after a long life full of love, sports, friendship, and family. Charles, also known as Charlie, High Card, Grandpa Kendricks, and Papaw Charlie, was born on July 9, 1929, in Crawfordsville to Amos Joe and Helen Kendricks. He married the love of his life, Delores Kendricks, on October 31, 1952. They were married for 60 wonderful years. She preceded him in death. Together, they had four children: Terry (Sharon) Kendricks, John (Debi) Kendricks, Arlanda Jo Bullock, and Michelle (Joe) Stucker, all of Crawfordsville; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Charlie was a hardworking, devoted family man, amazing softball player, avid golfer, loyal Cubs fan and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities and sporting events every chance he could. Charlie proudly served the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from his position as the General Foreman in the Wire Drawing Department at MidStates Steel and Wire in 1990 after nearly 40 years. Then, he went on to mow at the Crawfordsville Municipal Golf Course until the amazing age of 90. He was a member of the Legion Post 72, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and New Hope Christian Church, where he was baptized on March 6, 2023. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is proceeded in death by his siblings: Olive Brown, Joan Cooper, Dick Kendricks, Nancy Williams, and Mary Jane Timpany. He is also preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Emma Jo Kendricks, and son-in-law, Gary Bullock. His youngest brother, Ron (Donna) Kendricks, survives. The viewing will be Monday June 23, 2025 from 11am – 2pm with a service to start at 2pm officiated by Darrel Portwood at Hunt and Son Funeral Home. The burial will immediately follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
