He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeweldine "Mickey" Smith Kirby; grandson, Travis Jackson; brothers, David Kirby, Kenny Kirby, and James "Jim" Kirby.
Charles was a proud United States Navy veteran who faithfully served his country during the Korean War. A devoted man of faith, he was a charter member of New Life Baptist Church. Charles worked for many years at the Warner & Swasey Company and later retired from AB Carter. Charles cherished traveling and spending time with his children, creating lasting memories on family trips. He also enjoyed relaxing at home watching his favorite western movies, a pastime that brought him much joy and comfort.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Cyndie Roney (Craig), Melody Jackson, Joy Kirby, Charles Kirby, Jr. (Jeannie); grandchildren, Stephanie Shronce, Joshua Reid (Chasity), Brandol Jackson, Ashley Rose (Frank), Heather Kirby, Corey Cantrell (Sarah), Austin Cantrell (Jessica), Jessica Kirby, Emily Kirby; 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; adopted brother George Totherow.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at New Life Baptist Church on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Charles's funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at New Life Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Gomez officiating.
Interment will follow at Westview Gardens Cemetery.

I've enjoyed getting to know Mr Kirby over the past 3yrs. I loved listening to all his stories and his knowledge, just reminiscing on the good ole days. We would watch sports together, westerns and most of all preaching. He sure was a good man and I'm definitely going to miss him. Sending lots of love and prayers for his family and friends.
