Charles Frederick Phillip Kopp, 79, passed away on September 15, 2025. Born on February 3, 1946 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Carl Henry, Sr. and Irma Hirsch Kopp. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Kopp Jr., sister, Linda Smith, and nephew, Jeffrey Kopp.

A devoted high school teacher for most of his life, Chuck spent decades sharing his passion for history and guiding young minds with patience, humor, and unwavering care. He "retired" after more than 30 years at Enka High School and then went on to enjoy a second career in retirement as a substitute teacher at North Buncombe High School for another 17 years.

He is survived by his children, Brennan Kopp, Kevin Kopp (Michele), and Melissa Logan (Vince); beloved grandchildren, Ella Kopp, Lucy Kopp, Madeline Logan, and Evan Logan; sister, Mary MacDonald; sister-in-law, Arlene Kopp; nephews David Kopp, Larry Kopp, and Carl Kopp, III; niece, Diana Van Fleet; and cousin, Bonnie Tresselt.

Chuck's faith was a guiding force in his life. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Asheville for over 50 years, where he found immense joy and honor serving in a variety of leadership roles, and deeply cherished the fellowship, love, and support of his church family.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on September 27th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Chuck's memory to St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Mountain View Cremation & Funeral Care has the honor of serving the family.
