Charles Allen Lucas, resident of Albuquerque since birth, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Charles, also known as Chuck, was born on May 31, 1939, in Albuquerque, NM. He graduated from Highland High School in 1957, served in the US Army 1961-1963 and was an employee of Mountain Bell Telephone from 1964 until his retirement March of 1990. He met his wife Linda at the phone company, and they were married on December 6, 1968.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Linda of 54 years; their daughters, Kim Dickson, husband Gary of Sweetwater, TX, and Kerri Shook, husband Steve of O'Fallon, MO. He was a loving Papa to seven grandchildren, Erin Davis Trujillo, husband Sean, Jacob Davis, Meagan Davis, Jonathan Davis, Noah Shook, Tyler Shook and Mason Shook; and two great-grandsons Christopher and Jaxson Trujillo. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mattie Lucas; his brothers Ray Lucas, Al Lucas and Bill Lucas; and his sisters, Lola Smith and Martha Lucas.

Chuck was known for his love of family and children, his sense of humor and fun. He could brighten any room with his kind and joyful spirit. He was a good friend, a faithful member of three United Methodist Churches in his lifetime and enjoyed giving funny nicknames to those he cared about. His great smiles and laughter will be missed by so many friends and all who were touched by his love.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at FRENCH-Lomas on Wednesday, April 19th from 5-7:00pm. A celebration of Chuck's life will be held in the main chapel at FRENCH-Lomas on Thursday, April 20th at 11:00 am. A private burial service will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
