It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Diana J. O. Frederick, beloved wife, sister, and friend, on January 19, 2026, at the age of 66.

Diana was born on June 12, 1959, and lived most of her life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated from Highland High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Diana's professional journey was a testament to her determination and pioneering spirit. She worked as a cosmetologist, held various roles at Lovelace Medical Center, and built a remarkable 24-year career at Sandia National Laboratories. Starting as a secretary, she advanced through perseverance and mentorship to become a technician, a role she held until her retirement. Over her career she was the recipient of many individual and team awards.

Diana's life was rich with passions and talents. She loved knitting and created beautiful sweaters that she often gifted to loved ones. She enjoyed watching classic films, was an excellent cook, and cherished time spent with family and friends, usually over a good meal. A passionate reader, Diana found joy in stories and ideas, and she approached every task with creativity and resolve.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Ogas. She is survived by her devoted husband and soulmate, Ronald Frederick; her brother, John Ogas (Allison); her sister, Karen Stoughton (Bill); sister-in-law, Suzanne Fielding (Dave); brothers-in-law, David Frederick (Julie) and Dale Frederick; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members, friends, and neighbors. Honorary pallbearers include Mark Frederick, Eric Frederick, Johnny Stoughton, and Blakeley Stoughton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM at French Funerals and Cremations, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. A private interment for family members will take place on February 6, 2026, at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Diana's life was guided by love and resilience. As Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us: "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up."

The family would like to thank the staff of the Lovelace Cancer Center and Lovelace Medical Center for their compassionate care of Diana during her final months.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fund at the American Cancer Society in her memory.
