Mark C. Willis, age 85, passed away at home of heart failure on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. He was born January 20, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois to Dorothy Elizabeth Ryan and Henry Frank Willis. Shortly after graduation from Highland High School he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He earned his BS in Mathematics from the University of New Mexico with a Minor in EE and Physics. Married to his wife, Jenny, in 1993 and for the past 23 years have lived in Corrales, NM.
After Mark left the Air Force, he worked for Honeywell as an electrical engineering technician. He then began a long career with Control Data Corporation which included both technical and management positions in the U.S. and internationally. Early in Mark's career he worked with a team lead by Seymour Cray that designed the fastest computers in the world at that time.
At Sandia National Labs, Mark was a software developer for Sandia's Medical systems.
Mark was a dedicated family man, survived by his spouse, Jenny (Married 33 years); his children Ian Willis, Seth (Alisa) Willis, Garner Willis (fiancé Donna), Greg Begay (stepson). He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Alexandra, Douglas (Madison), Benjamin and Emma Willis. And one great-grandchild, Winter.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy & Henry Willis; Sisters Claire Shannon & Lynn Salka.
He enjoyed reading and spending time with his Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs and was a member of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States. His dogs brought him great peace and joy. Mark's hobbies included photography, to travel, snow ski, hike, and riding his motorcycle.
Services will take place on Friday, March 20, 2026, at FRENCH - Westside, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. Starting with a Rosary at 10am, Prayer Service celebrated at 10:30 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Reception will take place at same venue from 12-2 pm.
