A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Charles Richard Lynch, Sr. 81, who passed away February 1, 2024 at his residence. Deacon Nelson Schexnayder will conduct the services. Jodi Bollich will perform "Be Not Afraid", "Shepherd Me, Oh God", "I Will Never Forget You My People", "Let There Be Peace On Earth", and "On Eagles' Wings". Inurnment will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include wife, Margaret Souther Lynch of Carencro; two sons, Charles (Mitzi) Lynch Jr. of Port Barre, and James Lynch Sr. of Carencro; one daughter, Elizabeth Lynch of Carencro; two sisters, Mary Courville of Carencro and Nora Lynch of Ester, La.; two brothers, Semmes Lynch of Okla. and Michael Lynch of Greensburg, La.; five grandchildren, Trent Judice, Jordan Judice, Kara Pearson, James Lynch Jr., and Gabie Lynch; and two great-grandsons, Dean Chauvin and Jackson Lynch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Zoe and John Joseph Lynch; and one sister, Laelia Lynch.
Charles was a native of Abbeville and resident of Carencro for 57 years. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. He was a taxidermist for many years, and took up a second career at Stuller Settings. He was a member of Lafayette Art Association and Ducks Unlimited.
The family requests that visitation be held on Thursday from noon until the time of service at Walters Funeral Home.
