Mr. Charles "Mark" McFetridge, 67, of St. Augustine, Illinois, passed away at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, at OSF St. Mary's Medical Center, surrounded by family.
He was born June 24, 1957, in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Charles Bernard and LaReeda Joann (Genseal) McFetridge.
Mark is survived by his children: Jeremiah McFetridge, Julie McFetridge (Dustin Eilts) and Shane (Carissa) Hart, his grandchildren: Chandler and Savannah Magee, Colin and Carsen Hart, Landen and Jaxsen Eilts, former wife Debra Duckwiler Easley and his precious cat, Appa/Tootsie. He is preceded in death by his wife Jackie McFetridge, and his parents.
Mark was raised in St. Augustine. He graduated from Avon High School in 1975. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1977-1983. He settled down with his wife Jackie in Cedar Rapids, where he belonged to the New City Church and became very active in the community. Mark enjoyed watching his favorite football team: the Chicago Bears, attending concerts, going to the movies, reading books and comics, playing cards with friends, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, but his favorite being spending time with family and close friends. He also enjoyed caring for his cat.
Cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West, Funeral Directors and Cremation Services assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
