It is with great love and gratitude for his life that we announce the passing of George James McFetridge, Jr.

George was born in San Francisco, California on November 26, 1934, to George James Sr. and Helen Lucille (Nickerson) McFetridge.

Growing up in San Francisco, George spent his childhood riding streetcars and cable cars throughout the city, often exploring with friends or on his own. He enjoyed spending afternoons at the movie theater, swimming at Fleishhacker Pool, and visiting the zoo. He also cherished summers spent with family at the Nickerson Ranch in Altamont, California.

In 1958, George married the love of his life, Beverly, and together they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. They made their home in Pacifica, California, where they raised their three children-Mark, Kenny, and Kathy. The family later moved to Walnut Creek, where George worked in the stone and marble trade for many years, providing for his family with dedication and hard work.

George retired at the age of 65, around 1996, and he and Beverly moved to Pine Grove, California, where they enjoyed their retirement together. They loved traveling, camping, boating, riding motorcycles, taking hunting trips, and adventuring in their RV.

Above all, George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife Beverly, their children, and four grandchildren-Jace, Clayton, Julia, and Michaela-who will continue to cherish his memory.

George's love of life, sense of adventure, and dedication to his family will be forever remembered by all who knew him. George's funeral service will be on Friday, September 26 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Ripon, California at 10:30 AM. Procession to follow on foot from the church to St. John's cemetery for placement. Celebration of life gathering / lunch will be served at the Manteca park golf course. 305 N union Rd .
