John Robert Largent, 87, of Escalon, CA, passed away on July 27, 2025

John Largent was born on July 16, 1938 in Modesto to Angus and Elizabeth Largent. John graduated from Escalon High School class of 1956. He then began a successful farming career under his future father in law, which would see him eventually manage a ranch in Farmington, CA. In 1973 John would be elected as the California Young Farmers President.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1957 -1963.

In 1959, John married Toni Malspina, and together they raised two children in Escalon, CA.

John was an active member at St. Patrick's Church in Ripon, CA. He enjoyed his time as a member of the Escalon Lions Club and was a proud member of the early morning 'Donut Shack' crew who met for coffee during the early morning hours. John was a member of the Escalon Unified School District Board for forty-four years. He will be remembered for his generous acts of kindness and tremendous pride he took in his family and community.

He is survived by son Mark Largent, daughter in laws Jennifer and Cindy Largent. Grandsons Steven, Nicholas Largent and Holden Schultz. Great-grandsons Giancarlo, Enzo, Stefano and Kade Largent.

He was preceded in death by his parents Angus and Elizabeth and brother Tom Largent and his wife Toni and son Greg.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 5, 2025 from 3PM-4PM at St. Patrick's Church in Ripon with a rosary to follow. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday August 6, 2025 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the '9 of Hearts Corporation' or the Escalon Lions Club.
