Charles Mercer Obituary
Charles Sims Mercer, Jr., 77, of Stone Mountain died Tuesday, December 1, 2009. A life long resident of DeKalb County, he was a self employed land surveyor. He graduated from Decatur Boys High in 1949 and attended Ga. Tech. Mr. Mercer proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Anne Mercer he is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Carolyn Mercer; son, Charles E. Mercer; daughters, Val (Scott) Moore of Buford, Lynn Mercer of Knoxville, TN; and grandchildren, Charles Sims Mercer, Leah Moore, and Will Moore. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family this evening December 2nd, from 6 until 8PM at A. S. Turner & Sons, 404-292-1551. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.asturner.com.
