Charles “Jerry” Meshriy of Livonia, 82, passed away on February 15, 2026, after a long and arduous battle with lung cancer.
Jerry was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 5, 1943 to William and Gertrude Meshriy. He attended Clarenceville High School in Livonia.
Blessed with the “gift of the gab” Jerry worked a variety of jobs early in his career, many of which were in sales. Eventually, he launched his own business. J&M Nut and Bolt was a sales and distribution company that served the trucking industry. He loved taking care of his customers, mostly by bringing them coffee and donuts and talking shop for 45 minutes after doing a 5-minute inventory check.
Jerry met Linda (nee. Bujarski) Stobierski at a Parents Without Partners dance. After one year together, they married on February 18, 1984, when Jerry became a stepdad to Linda’s two teenagers, Mickey and Shelly.
Jerry and Linda continued to love dancing. They also enjoyed bowling. The pair bowled in a league for many years, where they formed life-long friendships. Jerry also enjoyed several passions, including gambling, playing golf, hanging out at the lake, riding in his boat, and eating ice cream.
In addition to his devoted wife, Linda, Jerry is survived by two children, Nicole (Aaron) Keifer and Daniel Meshriy, and two stepchildren, Michael (Eileen) Stobierski and Michelle Stobierski. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Tyler McManman, Michael Stobierski, Hunter Stobierski, Mitchell Stobierski, Sydney Rudy, and Chesney Rudy. Jerry left behind several nieces as nephews as well, several of which deserve an honorable mention for their constant support, Suzanne (James) Leacher and Anthony (Amber) Malinowski.
Visitation for Jerry will be held Saturday, February 21st from 10:00 AM until the time of his Memorial Service at 12:00 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154.
