Lisa Catherine Hightower

Lisa Catherine Hightower, 60, passed away on February 14, 2026 at home in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Lisa graduated from Churchill High School in Livonia, Class of 1984. She began her professional career at Yazaki North America in Canton, where fate introduced her to the love of her life, Victor. Their love blossomed at work and continued to grow stronger. Lisa and Victor were married on August 22, 1998, in Livonia, beginning a marriage that can be described as "a honeymoon every day."

Lisa transitioned to the mortgage department at Citibank. Later in life, she worked as a subcontractor and was ultimately hired on with MSE as a parts procurement specialist.

Outside of work, Lisa found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending evenings watching her favorite show, The Incredible Dr. Pol, and had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs. Above all, Lisa cherished time spent with her family. Whether gathered for celebrations or quiet moments together, family meant everything to her.

Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved father, John Joseph Smar.

She is lovingly remembered by her beloved husband and best friend, Victor; mother, Kathleen Smar; sister, Jennifer Rieger; brothers, John (Karol) Smar, Michael Smar, and Steve Smar; along with 7 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 1pm at Nie Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor MI 48103, with visitation before 10am-1pm.

Lisa will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Cemetery of Superior Township directly following.
