Charles C. Moody Jr., age 80, of Ashville, OH, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 9, 1945, to the late Charles C. Sr. and Florence E. (Ward) Moody in Garden City, KS. He was a self-employed electrician and member of the South Bloomfield Methodist Church. Charlie was a member of the US Navy for 13 years and served his country in West PAC and worked as a boat tour guide to the National Pearl Harbor Memorial. He married his sweetheart, Pamela S. (Webster), on March 6, 1970.
Besides his wife, Pam, of 55 years, he is survived by his son, Mike (Angi) Moody; brother-in-law Gerald Webster and Allene Hagen; and a host of grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlene Purkeypyle; infant grandson Kaleb Moody; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Lucille Webster; numerous brothers and sisters; brother-in-law, Butch; sisters-in-law, Sis and Pidge; and great-great niece, Aubree Brady. In addition he was preceded by Coco, Izzy, and Molly his beloved fur friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, OH, 43103 with Rev. Keith Deel officiating.
Burial will take place at Harrison Township Cemetery, 5001 Union St., South Bloomfield, OH 43103. A military service will be provided by AMVETS Post #2256.
The family requests that in lieu flowers, contributions can be made to South Bloomfield Methodist Church, 5027 2nd St. West, South Bloomfield, OH 43103; Pickaway County CASA, 207 S. Court St. Circleville, OH 43113; Heartland Hospice, 116 Morris Rd. Suite B, Circleville, OH 43113.
